Lesson 9: Numerology

In the Orders teachings they presented a considerable amount of information on Lemuria and the Lemurian writing system. I contacted them on learning more Lemurian, and was told that what is in the lesson was all that was left of the Lemurian system.

I am going to step out on a limb here, and say that it was probably made up. I am not saying that it does not work, just about everything I have tried that I learned from the teachings has been effective. It is a very creative system, and what I have used of it has been effective. However, there are enough magickal alphabets available, and with the solitary exception of the runes, they all seem to work about the same. The runes simply have a larger body of lore to go with them, and so, at least for me, are more effective. So, in keeping with my disinterest in spreading the word about the holy Hitteon faith, I will not be including the teachings on Lemurian other than what this.

Lemurian: One of the basic premises of magick is that shapes can effect energy flow. This is a form of sympathetic magick. You do something to an object or symbol and it changes the outcome of a situation. This is how magickal symbols work. Any letter system can be used as magickal symbols. There are so many systems of magickal symbols out there that a comprehensive listing of them is near impossible. There are many systems of symbols as well, each with their own meaning and usage methods. The Lemurian is said to originate in Lemuria, the mythical place of origin for the Holy Orthodox Hitteon Church. What truth there is in all this, I do not know. The magickal and spiritual development teachings of the Order are effective. I do not care to speculate on the factuality of the religion. All religions contain nonsense. All religions are manmade. The age of the religion matters little to me.

The Lemurian writing of the Order teaches us how shapes effect the energetic flow of a situation. The shapes for the letters “M” and “N” are essentially arrows. They represent movement of some sort. By breaking the arrows in the middle you can use the symbol to represent the stopping of movement. That is one example of the theory of shapes effecting energy flow. The Lemurian writing system is basically a system of stylized pictographs. Other that answering test questions for the Order, I have never used them. I prefer to work with the runes.

As far as the Lemurian language that is given, it seems to me a bunch of babbling. I think that someone made up some words, and pronunciations for them and put them in the system. I do not know if they were just made up, or if they came by inspiration, but I do not see any point in reproducing them here. I am not saying that made up words do not work in magick, as the spell I wove to get the course consisted of a nonsense chant I made up just for that spell. Just that I do not feel the need to reproduce the Lemurian here.

There is some wisdom mixed into the terms and meanings of the letters, but nothing I feel is worth the amount of work you have to put into them.

The teachings give several phrases in Lemurian before going into the numerology system, and finishing the lesson with spirit runes. The spirit runes are some cool looking pictographs. They have worked well where I have used them, but pictographs you find during shamanic workings or meditations would be much more powerful. As with the Lemurian, I would have to scan them in to post them, and I have no intention of doing that at this time.

Numerology: The system of numerology taught in the Order is one of the most complex and confusing methods of numerology I have ever seen. For all of its nuances, it does not seem anymore effective than any other system I have used. You are given five different methods for rendering letters into numbers, each with it’s own purpose. They give a few complex formulas. All in all, I have only used the system given a few times. It just takes too long, and it is very easy to make a mistake.

My personal numerology system is based on Time-Life Books Mysteries of the Unknown: Visions and Prophecies. I have added information form many other sources, and discussed at length, the values of certain numbers and methods with other numerologists and have devised a system that works for me.

1) A,J,S. Means singularity, focus, beginnings and creativity. The person is an individualist.

2) B,K,T. Duality, diplomacy and attention to detail. The person seeks balance.

3) C,L,U. Expressiveness, warm natured and socially minded. The person seeks attention.

4) D,M,V. Security, stability and practical caution. The person seeks consistency.

5) E,N,W. Experience, exploration, novelty. The person seeks something more,

6) F,O,X. Harmony, compassion, service to others. The person seeks to mature.

7) G,P,Y. Analysis, knowledge and meditation. The person seeks to learn.

8) H,Q,Z. Reward, strength, grounding. The person seeks fulfillment.

9) I,R. Release, wisdom, peace. The person seeks within.

In some systems 11, 13 and 22 are given special consideration. These correspondences are very general, and are meant to give you a basis on which to develop your own system of numerology. Research, practice and experience will yield results in this discipline. Everyone seems to do it a little different. Even though my system disagrees with my friends systems, they all yield similar results in levels of accuracy.

How to work a name: This is where you bring it all together. I will demonstrate on my name, Mystic Tekaa.

Begin by writing down the full name of the subject. What you use will yield varying results, so use the name the person uses in the situation being divined. For life and love, use the legal name. You can do this on addresses also, though the details of how you work that vary form one numerologist to the next. Some use the number as is, other spell them out. You can also use this method to develop a magickal name for your self, for use in healing and protection spells.

So, Mystic Tekaa becomes these numbers: 471293 25211. Add the numbers together 4+7+1+2+9+3+2+5+2+1+1= 37.

Add the numbers of the total: 3+7=10. So, 1+0=1. The overall number is 1, unity, creativity and focus.

Now, add the numbers of the consonants: mystctk= 4+7+1+2+9+2= 25. So 2+5=7

This is the face number, or the view that the person wants others to have of them. 7 shows that I want to appear knowledgeable and meditative, but realize that I am still a seeker.

Now, add up the vowels: iaa= 9+1+1=11. You can leave it as 11 or add it to get 2.

This shows the heart number, what the person is like on the inside, so I am seeking balance.

As you learn more about the meaning of the numbers you will be able to expand your interpretation by using your intuition.

That is the most common method used. I have seen another where you only count to 9 when you add. So, Mystic Tekaa= 471293 25211. 4+7= 2 (11) You get 2 because 4+7=11 and 1+1=2. 2 +1=3. 3+9=3 (12). 3+3=6. 6+2=8. 8+5=4 (13,1+3=4). 4+2=6. 6+1=7. 7+1=8. So the overall number would be 8. Strength and grounding. This system is easier to count in your head than to write out. It is less common, and I don’t much care for it.

Why numerology: With numerology you can see how things relate to your birth number. You get the birth number by adding up your birth date. I do it thus:

6th September, 2002 was my ordination date into the High Priesthood of the Order, so I will use it to explain. 6, 9,2002 is the date. You can spell out the month, or even the numbers, but most people just use the numerical date. So, 6+9+2+0+0+2=19. 1+9=10. 1+0=1. The overall number of my name, Mystic Tekaa is 1, and my birth number is 1, so they are a good match. The name Mystic Tekaa suits me from a magickal perspective, for the dissemination of these teachings. I chose the title Mystic, as in the Order it means teacher, and Tekaa was one of the characters from the holy books. From a numerological perspective, it works very well.

You can use this method for almost anything, from relationships to addresses. You can even do this for businesses. You will have to try it out to work out the details for yourself as each numerologist must discover the system that is the most compatible with their personal intuition.

Numerology can also tell you information about a persons year cycle. Just add the numbers of their age and you have the year cycle they are in. I am 29, so 2+9=11, 1+1=2, so I am in my year cycle 2,  a time to explore the inner self. This can give you an idea of what to focus on in a given year. Though, intuition must always be your guide.
