The 10 Laws of Natural Magick

These are things to consider. They form a solid basis for understanding some basic why’ and hos of magick. Contemplate them. Meditate on them. Apply them. Modify them with your own experience and wisdom. If you are inclined to, I would be interested in hearing any insights you might have into these. Please feel free to email me about them.

  1. Law of Return

This goes by many names. The law of attraction, the three fold law, and so on. Essentially what you send out into the universe returns to you. It is part of how sympathetic magick (see law 3 below) works. Your actions, both magickal and mundane, create vibrations of certain frequencies. These vibrations reverberate out and, like an echo, return to you. The amount they are magnified by the process of going out and coming back is very variable and unpredictable. The way the return manifests doesn’t always happen in the amount of time you would like. In cases where it seems like this law isn’t working, it’s usually because of other issues or situations in your life that are preventing its manifestation.

As an example, if you are working money spells and sending out vibrations for money to return to you but you have no job and no income, the universe is going to have a hard time getting money to you. The money may not come in the amounts you want. It may not come in ways you would like.

  1. Abundant energy

Energy is abundant. It is everywhere. There is no shortage of the energy needed to work magick. It is just a matter of gathering it, shaping it, and directing it. On a spiritual/magickal level, the energy we use for our work is constantly flowing. Some places have higher concentrations of it. If you can do your work or meditation in these areas you are going to have better results, typically. Places like forests and waterfalls are great. Certain locations on the planet are known to be focal points for this kind of energy. Look for sacred sites in your area and try to at least visit them and feel the energy.

If you live in an area where you can, developing a relationship with a point of power is a rewarding process. This need not be a famous or well known spot. It may be a spot out in nature that you find and that you feel a connection to.

If your current living conditions do not allow for you to develop a relationship with a specific spot outside, it can be helpful to dedicate a space in your home to meditation and magick work. This is not needed for success with the methods on this site, but it does help.

Outside of the realm of magick, energy in the physical world is abundant. Matter is energy condensed. The sun beats down on the Earth, pouring energy onto our planet. The wind and water move. There is ample energy to harness and ample resources for everyone. However it will take us working together to move past the old paradigm of scarcity that is causing many of the problems we face today and into the new paradigm of abundance that will carry us into the future.

  1. Everything has connections

Connections, either directly or indirectly, exist between all things. Concepts of this have existed for a long, long time. And with good reason! The web of life, dependent arising, the interconnectedness of all things is found in many cultures the world over. It is an observable reality for those who can see beyond the obvious physical world in front of their eyes.

These connections can be used to bring about change through magick. This law is the basis of sympathetic magick, where you use a symbol representing your target and you visualize whatever you want to happen to the target as you perform the desired outcome on the symbol. Poppets (Voodoo dolls) are the most famous example. If you are doing a remote healing on a person, you can make a poppet and perform the healing on the doll with clear intent that the healing is happening (or better has already happened) to the person. Placing coins on your alter and lighting green candles, using a lodestone or magnet to attract new opportunities, or even just vision boarding are all examples of this law in action.

This law is strongly interconnected with the first law.

  1. Every possibility

An important part of magick is probability engineering. While almost anything is possible, the probability of specific events occurring varies widely. Magick can help to manipulate the probability in your favor. However, it’s generally better to believe that anything is possible

  1. Path lies within

We do not have a soul, we ARE a soul. That soul is our spark of the divine. It is also our connection to the divine. The path to divine wisdom and power is within.

  1. To know

This is the first of the classic Four Powers of the Magus. It is assigned to the East, element of Air and intellect. In order to change something you must be aware of it. You must know how to change it. You must know when to change it.

  1. To will

The second of the Four Powers of the Magus. It is assigned to the South, element of Fire and transformation. A magick user must have a developed will. This is something beyond just normal will power.

  1. To dare

The third of the Four Powers. It is assigned to the West, element of Water and intuition. The daring to pursue magick. It is the courage to face the unknown, to seek wisdom, and to wield magick.

  1. To keep silent

The fourth of the Four Powers. It is assigned to the North, element of Earth and stability. Keeping silent about your practice is often necessary. In times or locations where people are hostile to it, it is best to be quiet about it. Even when tolerated, it is still often best to “Speak little, listen much”. Where the work you are doing is concerned, it is prudent to not discuss active spells or other magickal workings in most situations. Especially when it will cause people to cast doubt on it or you.

  1. To evolve.

I added this to the list as a kind of unofficial 5th Power of the Magus. It is assigned to the Center, element of Spirit. Personal growth, progress is the purpose of High magick. But any level of magickal practice can be used to improve yourself.
